  • SICMUN

The Student International Conference Model United Nations, held at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, was founded by a group of passionate individuals who were enthusiastic about Model United Nations and sought to create their own conference. Before the creation of SICMUN, this group of individuals worked tirelessly to develop their own debating skills and knowledge of Model United Nations in general, and even established two smaller, "learning conferences" for both middle and high school students. Through this active participation, they helped other individuals gain an interest in Model United Nations, some of whom are currently part of the SICMUN Secretariat. After gaining this experience, this group of founders wanted to apply their years of skills and knowledge to an international conference for delegates of all ages. These founders were able to start their own conference: SICMUN.
